Everything in the box — mod, tank, two coils, cable, manual. The innokin ez watt kit is Innokin's entry-level variable wattage kit, and it's genuinely one of the better-designed starter setups on the UK market. Three power settings, 1500mAh battery, 2ml top-fill Prism T20S tank, six colour options.

Introduction

Most starter kits give you one fixed wattage and call it done. The innokin ez watt kit does something more useful — three selectable power levels, 13W through to 35W, on a device that's still straightforward enough that a first-time vaper can pick it up and figure it out without reading the manual twice.

It ships with the Prism T20S tank and two Prism S coils. The 0.8Ω comes pre-installed in the tank. The 1.5Ω ships as a spare. Two genuinely different vaping experiences from the same kit — 0.8Ω for slightly more vapour and open draw at 16–18W, 1.5Ω for tight MTL at 13–14W closer to a cigarette pull.

The no-spill push-fit coil swap system on the Prism T20S is worth noting. Coil changes on most tanks involve unscrewing the base with a wet tank and dripping liquid everywhere. Not here. The coil pulls out and clicks back in from the top. Small thing, but if you've ever swapped a coil the old way at work or in a car, you'll appreciate it.

Specs

The chipset inside the innokin ez watt kit reads the coil resistance automatically and adjusts voltage output to hit the selected wattage setting — so when you drop in a 1.5Ω coil and select low power, it compensates accordingly without you having to do anything. That's what makes three preset levels work in practice rather than being a gimmick — the device handles the maths, you just pick Low, Medium, or High.

Setting It Up

Take the kit out of the box. The Prism T20S tank comes with the 0.8Ω coil already fitted — you don't need to install anything before filling. Open the top-fill cap, fill the tank to the 2ml line with your chosen e-liquid, close it. Then leave it.

Ten minutes. Minimum. That's the priming wait and it matters more than most people realise. The cotton wicking inside the 0.8Ω Prism S coil is bone dry from the factory. E-liquid needs time to work its way through the cotton before the coil fires. Draw too early and the coil heats a dry or under-saturated wick — that scorches the cotton, and a scorched coil doesn't recover. The burnt taste sticks around for the life of that coil, from the very first draw onward. Ten minutes is nothing compared to replacing a coil on day one.
After priming, single button on the mod — five clicks to power on. Then hold the button and draw. Power level selection is done by pressing the button three times — cycles through Low (13W), Medium (around 20W), and High (35W). Start on Low or Medium with a fresh coil, don't open on High straight away.

Which Power Level to Use

Three settings, and the right one depends on which coil is installed and what you're after.

Low (13W) — best match for the 1.5Ω coil. Tight MTL draw, closest to a cigarette, least vapour production. Where ex-smokers often end up. Suits 20mg nic salt.

Medium — works with both coils as a starting point. Good place to begin on a fresh coil before pushing the wattage up.

High (35W) — for the 0.8Ω coil, higher vapour output, more open draw. Suited to 50/50 e-liquids at 3–6mg freebase or lower-strength nic salt. Not for the 1.5Ω coil — running that at 35W will burn it out fast.

Coil Compatibility

The innokin ez watt kit uses Prism S T20S coils — three resistance options across the range.

• 0.8Ω Prism S — 16–18W, slightly open MTL / RDTL, ships pre-installed
• 1.5Ω Prism S — 13–14W, tight MTL, ships as spare
• 0.9Ω Prism S Mesh — available separately, mesh coil for better flavour consistency

E-Liquid Pairing

With the 0.8Ω coil — higher VG content, 60% VG or above. Thicker liquid suits the sub-ohm output range. Freebase at lower nicotine strengths (3–6mg) or nic salt at 10mg or below. Running high-PG liquid through a 0.8Ω coil at 16–18W gives a harsh, unpleasant throat hit.

With the 1.5Ω coil — 50/50 PG/VG ratio or high-PG e-liquid. High-VG liquids are too thick for the 1.5Ω wicking at 13–14W — they won't absorb fast enough and dry hits follow. 20mg nic salt in 50/50 base is the natural pairing here. Smooth delivery, satisfying hit, no harshness.
